Jan EvansJan Evans has been writing since age eight, when her first limerick was printed in a school paper. In eighth grade she wrote a story that she later turned into a play which was produced by her class. Writing daily, Jan has kept journals for years, which inspire her poetry and stories for children, one of which won an award from the Tampa Writers Alliance in 2007. Jan’s first book in the Brighter Way Books series was Repetitive Rhonda, based on her own life and trials with OCD. Through the Brighter Way Books, her hope is to help children understand that mental disorders have physical causes that are not their fault, and that help is available—and, more importantly, to know they are not alone. Humor has been Jan’s saving grace in dealing with OCD and she wants to share this legacy with all children. Jan has a B.A. in Music and a Masters degree in Special Education. Active in her church and a Synodical Deacon, she lives in Tampa.
Vicki MorrisVicki Morris is a God-gifted artist who embarked on an illustration career at a very early age. As soon as she could hold a pencil, crayon or brush, Vicki was creating works of art, knowing “if I can see it, I can draw it.” Much of her growth as an artist has been learning by doing. Vicki, who claims she “fell into the right people at the right time,” gives credit to the good people who have helped her along the way. Vicki lives in Tampa with her husband, where both are active in their
church. As a freelance artist, Vicki will tackle anything from murals
on school walls to posters for church events to decorating dishwashers! |
